Advanced Drama Class Curriculum

Once we are comfortable playing on stage it is our job as the actor to find truth...

Prerequisite: Drama I

Instructor: Mr. Todd Schaefer
BA In Theatre from Truman State University
Certification and Graduate classes at University of MO at St Louis

Class Objective: Explore the history of theater performance and begin finding a personal technique as a student actor through: 

Class Expectations: Each Student will be required to do the following to get credit in the class

  • Keeping an written acting journal and portfolio
  • Doing all assignments and submitting work in our Google Classroom
  • Being prepared by performance dates (scripts scored, memorized, staged, and rehearsed)
  • Each student writing original work for the stage during the year
  • Multiple performances per progress period
  • One act play study (dramaturgy work - research, image finding and analysis)
  • Full length play study (from the Pulitzer list) 
  • Attending a show at the Repertory Theater of St Louis and writing a review of the production
  • Creating an original Avant Garde (Performance Art/Solo Performance) piece for their final
